The Process

  • Cut flower garden, flower farmer, grow flowers

    Growing Flowers

It all starts at the end of Fall! Hand collecting seeds from my garden, for next year's grow season. Then, in in the winter months, I start sowing seeds in a little back room in my home. Months and months of watching, caring, and growing these tiny seedlings. I have LOVED learning (by research, trial, and error) how to grow flowers from seeds, bulbs and tubers.

  • Pressing flowers, flower preservation

    Pressing Process

I use one to several different drying techniques, depending on the flower. I’ve learned what works best to hold the color of the flower. Regardless of proper preservation, all flowers will fade over time. But I think that just adds to the beauty of the piece! To completely dry, most flowers take 4-6 weeks. Flowers are checked on daily the first week and then weekly, to ensure the flowers press to the highest quality.

    Creating Art

I love being able to create beautiful pieces of art with my own flowers that I have grown from tiny seeds. I was once someone who could not keep anything green alive. And now here I am, with my own micro flower farm, creating art with nature, absolutely loving what I do. And so happy that you guys do too!
